The AAW is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of woodturning. Our mission is to provide education, information, and organization to those interested in turning wood.

Benefits of Membership

  • American Woodturner -- The most informative, and widely read woodturning publication in the world. Every issue (up to 80 pages) is packed with a wide array of articles focusing on everything from basic woodturning techniques and special projects, to innovative design ideas.

  • The Annual AAW Resource Directory -- A great resource for anyone interested in woodturning.

  • Local AAW Chapters -- An extensive network of hundreds of local chapters across North America, Asia and Europe offer monthly meetings, woodturning demonstrations, and a community of woodturning friends with lots of experience and free advice.

  • AAW National Symposium - The premiere woodturning event worldwide. Held in a different region of the country each year, the symposium features dozens of renowned demonstrators who share their skills and insights.   • Educational Opportunity Grants - As an AAW member, you are eligible for grants of up to $1,000 to expand your woodturning knowledge and improve your skills. Dozens of grants have been awarded for special courses with professional woodturning instructors and established craft schools.

  • Professional Outreach Program (POP) - Being a member of AAW provides access to the tremendous resources of POP, aimed at enabling your professional goals as a woodturner... including cash grants, searchable directories and no-cost marketing of your business, profession or advanced hobby interests.
