Each issue of the American Woodturner will recognize a Local Chapter for outstanding
work. Recognition will be the display of the work in the "Chapter Spotlight" feature of the American
Woodturner. Chapters selected for this recognition are also entitled to select three symposium
videos, other than the most current edition, for their Chapter library.
"Chapter Spotlight" Guidelines:
The American Woodturner Submission Guidelines page and the Submission Guidelines published in the annual Resource
Directory are excellent starting places to assemble your submissions. In addition, keep the following
suggestions in mind:
- Submit recent work from four or five members.
- Look for variety among your turned objects--vessels, platters, small and large pieces.
- The quality of the turned objects AND the photographic quality will separate your chapter
from the crowd.
- Be sure to include complete caption material about the turnings. In addition, include a
few lines of information about your members and chapter. See the "Chapter Spotlight" on pages 30
and 31 of the Spring 2003 issue for suggestions.
- Provide addresses, daytime and evening phone numbers, and e-mail addresses (if available)
of the members included in the submissions. (We may have reason to contact the members prior
to publication and we'll want to send along an extra copy after publication.)
- We will accept slides or digital images (300 dpi and tif format preferred). Please do not
attempt to send digital images as e-mail attachments. We suggest mailing a CD to assure
high-quality images.
