Sponsored by the American Association of Woodturners Professional Outreach Program (POP), Traces is thirteenth in a series of exhibitions of small-scale works in wood created by an international roster of wood artists. This year, in connection with the 2019 National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference, the AAW Gallery of Wood Art was invitied to present a clay and wood show. This year’s POP theme provided a natural bridge, and twelve ceramics artists were selected to join the exhibition. The result is a rich overlap and interplay of forms. Concepts, and designs, all bearing clear evidence-traces-of the makers’ skills and love for their medium.
