Alvin “Al” J. Feist, Prior Lake, MN

Alvin Jacob Feist’s life and vacation were cut short, when he passed away, at the age of 70, in Oviedo, Florida on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Alvin “Al” was born May 27, 1951, to Frank and Elizabeth (Jangula) Feist in Zeeland, ND. The third of four boys, he learned the value of hard work growing up on their family farm. Al and his family sold their farm and moved to Bloomington, MN, when Al was a senior in high school in 1969. There he met his loving wife, Lois Cunningham, with whom he celebrated 51 years of marriage with on September 5th, 2021.

Al and Lois enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and were devoted to each of their families. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Brian, whom they raised in their home in Savage. Al and Brian were father and son as well as best friends. Al dedicated much of his time outside of his 50-year career in the auto industry to Brian. He was a boy scout leader, and he helped Brian start a lawn mowing and snow plowing business in Brian’s teen years. They worked tirelessly over the years together in Brian’s business and other projects.

From welding to woodworking, machine repair, landscaping projects or construction, and smoking meat. Al could do anything with his hands and was a perfectionist at it all. He was a great teacher and his insatiable curiosity and desire for facts and knowledge about most everything was instilled in Brian and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bloomington, MN, and a devoted member of St. John the Baptist church in Savage.

The last ten years of Al’s life were blessed by the addition of his grandchildren. He was a most proud and devoted grandpa to his four grandchildren, and they brought a joy to his life nothing else could match. They are blessed with memories of skid loader rides on Saturdays, time working in the garage and the shop, family games, and the biggest hugs one could get from Grandpa.

Forever loved by his family and friends, Al will be greatly missed by his wife, Lois; son, Brian (Andrea); four grandchildren, Weston, Carolyn, Garrett, and Colton and his three brothers, Jerome (Marcella), Norbert (Betty), and LeRoy (Gabby). Greeting Alvin in heaven are his parents Frank and Elizabeth Feist.
