Glenn Krueg, Newark, CA
Glenn Krueg, a long time resident on Newark, CA, passed away on March 10, 2023. He was 85 years old.
Glenn
was born to Albert and Martha Krueg on July 29, 1937. He grew up on a
dairy farm in Lodi, CA. He was an active in 4-H and Future Farmers of
America, winning honors in both organizations.
After earning a
degree in Horticulture from UC Davis, he worked for a few years at Villa
Montalvo in Saratoga where he supervised refurbishing the grounds and
developed an arboretum for public enjoyment. He went on to get a
master's degree in Recreation from San Jose State College. He worked 13
years as the Community Services Director for the City of Newark. In 1982
he began work in management for New Haven Unified School District, and
retired in 1993 as Director of Maintenance and Operations.
Glenn
enjoyed woodturning, furniture making, gardening, landscaping, bonsai,
raising koi fish, traveling, and photography. In retirement, he
developed his art for creating miniature woodturnings which he exhibited
and sold in fine craft galleries.
Glenn was loved and admired by
family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Kaaren Krueg, his
daughter and her husband Linda and Doug Cline, his granddaughter Camilla
Cline, and his sister and her husband Diana and Don Schmierer. Glenn
was predeceased by one step brother Dennis Krueg.
