Quinn Patrick McCarthy Quinn Patrick McCarthy died January 20, 2023, at the Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, Minnesota He was born on September 22, 1964, in Manitowoc, WI, the son of Patrick and Claudia (Lodl) McCarthy. He grew up primarily in Menominee Falls, WI. Quinn earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in 1988. He later studied graduate level statistics online through Colorado State University. Quinn worked as a GIS Specialist for Koochiching County from 2008 to 2018. Prior to that Quinn worked as a Forester and GIS Specialist for Boise Cascade and Forest Capital in International Falls and for Menominee Tribal Enterprises in Keshena, WI. Quinn was united in marriage to Diane Wessels on August 20, 2005, in Ranier, MN. Quinn was a member of the Rendezvous Yacht Club and loved sailing, especially racing and flying spinnakers. He was also a member of the Rainy River Area Woodworkers, which is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. Quinn was a fine woodworker. Many of his friends and family enjoyed his projects which included everything from cribbage and cutting boards to bedroom furniture and kitchen cabinets. In addition to woodworking and sailing, Quinn enjoyed firearm and archery hunting and was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan. Quinn was preceded in death by his father, Patrick; aunt, Maureen; and uncles, Al and Mike. Quinn is survived by his wife, Diane; mother, Claudia; brother, Tim (Beth); niece, Mikayla McCarthy; and many other relatives and friends.
